Guitars & songwriting ….

Guitars & songwriting …. BC RICH's are my Guitar of choice because of the whining lead sound, the sound of electric guitars surprisingly enough is made by the density of the wood, they actually produce the same sound unplugged but you cant hear the tone unless you put your ear right next to the strings. The songs are all composed by me, I have written around 300 Rock/Metal songs to date & I think of so many new ideas daily when I busy mixing or rehearsing that a lot of good ones get forgotten. For instance the Track "Baby Doll" was written initially at the top of the stairs, it just came into my head & I stood for about 5 mins working out a solid format & what I wanted to be the prominent sound. Mostly though I work out the front guitar part … what I will be playing live, record that on the studio & archive it for future reference. The lyrics, unless I already have a strong idea are simply what the music "says" to me after repeated listening & the lead guitar is more technical, going from minor to augmented & into major keys mortly, sometimes the backing picks up the these chords but mostly for clarity the backing is very "route note" orientated. I use various guitar electronics, plugged directly in to the power amplifier of a 300w unit that will actually power 8 4 x 12 speaker cabinets, though one speaker cabinet has the power to completely drown out the band! & a small amplifier as stage monitor that I gave "legs" so it can lean back at the appropriate angle. GUITAR MAINTENANCE ....

Restringing all guitars this week, ready for recording, the black Ironbird in the current photo's is done, got the blue Warlock, the red Beast, the green Ibanez & the Warlock Bass still to do, the Bass is a long scale, I cant reach the end when I've got it on ! The guitars all have tremelo systems too so the strings need a great deal of settling in before they will stay in tune, the heavy bottom strings have a huge amount of stretch to lose before they are at a consistant tautness. Five Wah Pedals & Why New Strings…. A bonus from the new effect settings & equipment is that the Wah now has five variations, although an impossible amount of "tap dancing" on the foot switches would be necessary to use them consecutively in one track, for use on a track a time, the five are available. New strings produce double the amount of sound that old ones do, this is because the invisible back of the string gets a groove worn into it by the fret, so the vibration of the string is no longer over the entire length at a uniform thickness. The guitars all have tremelo systems too so the strings need a great deal of settling in before they will stay in tune, the heavy bottom strings have a huge amount of stretch to lose before they are at a consistant tautness. The string that has gone out of tune on tremelo guitars will make the others go the other direction, so a string that is too low can make the other to high, knowing which string is at fault is important because correcting the other will make matters considerably worse. The Guitars all have simple but important modifications, strap positions for balance, bridge settings & pick up adjustments to emphasize certain strings & also to bring a chord sound that complements the EQ settings for the electronics, a harmonic edge is desirable on the 4th & 5th strings in particular, whereas the bottom string sounds better with a drier bite & the 2nd string needs to have bite but also produce a harmonic from emphasis with the plectrum, so the pick ups are set to enhance this pattern. The guitar strap height is set to put the strings at precisely the same wrist position on each guitar, so changes of instrument live don't effect performance but for this reason the Ibanez is not used live for rhythmic tracks because the strings are far higher from the guitar body than on the BC Rich's, causing low string strum difficulty simply because of this difference.

METAL MUSICIANS…..Live Performance

METAL MUSICIANS…..Live Performance I am probably the fastest lead guitar in the world, I sing lead vocals at the same time, I have 5 Albums recorded, an hour & a half of which I have prepared live currently. I have a P.A. System that would do a small festival & a professional recording studio. The music is publicised on-line by ROY STONE .COM & extensively across London UK through many high street promotions. Before I get started on the next Album I would like to ask if any musicians are available for live performance, I can perform it all to a backing recording, which I have been doing for a while now but obviously a full band would have greater opportunities. I need bass & a drummer & simple backing vocals. The instrument electronics are all programmed for precisely the recorded sound live, its not like it…. it is it ! ……..all that's needed is to plug in Check out the music …… http://www.facebook.com/METALROYSTONE/app_2405167945

Pleased to announce that there is a new guitarist, Jay, currently working on rehearsing the live show. 2 Brand New Tracks now play from ROY STONE .COM …… “I LURV ROCK’N’ROLL” & “EVIL EMPIRES” as well as a load of others too! That takes us up to Tr4 of the current Album, another new guitar set up has been created for Track 5 & beyond …..which is HUGE ! …. This will feature on the last six Tracks being recorded, don’t worry it is only a development on the previous effect programming & it doesn’t change the Album route sound halfway through.
